Get ready for the colorful planet in Riverside Park on June 8-10, 2012. More than 30 diverse cultures come alive at the Guelph & District Multicultural Festival through food, entertainment, sports, music, story telling, and the international marketplace.

"The first Guelph & District Multicultural Festival was held 26 years ago in downtown Guelph and attracted a couple of thousand people," says GDMF board president, Delfino Callegari , and now boasts 24,000 people last year. "We thought allowing some strong changes; the festival will grow in the future. Come and see what is new."
.
The volunteer organized weekend begins Friday, June 8 at 6:45pm with the Cultural Costumes Parade starting the opening ceremony, brought in with an Aboriginal Women’s Drumming group. Bring your children to the Kids Kafé on Friday night for Aboriginal storytelling, and some PJ yoga. "Saturday is a great cultural stage performer starting your day off at 11am with Zumba with Carlos or come early to watch some of the Highland Heavy Events at 10 am." encouraged Callegari. When asked if such a celebration was a yearly thing, Callegari replied, “Cultural awareness and education is a Guelph & District Multicultural Festival thing for over 25 years."

Come out and enjoy the Community tent, all the delicious ethnic food in the Diverse Diner, the music and dancing on the cultural stage, soccer and bocce ball tournaments for the youth and as always a great line-up of bands in our Session Bar.

Do not miss Juno nominated Jaffa Road on Saturday afternoon. For a full line –up of the Session Bar go to our website www.gdmf.ca. The Board of Directors looks forward to seeing you out for the Festival.
