Police Dog 'General' Tracks Suspect
On November 12th, 2019, at 2:20pm, an officer of the Guelph Police Service observed an adult male who was wanted on a warrant, walking with a female on Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph. The officer attempted to arrest him, but he fled on foot. Police Dog General was called in and tracked the suspect. General located the suspect hiding in a nearby business.
A 29 year old Guelph male was arrested on the strength of the warrant.
The male was further charged with two additional counts of breach probation and one count of obstruct police.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on November 13th, 2019.
Ongoing Drug Trafficking Investigation Leads To Multiple Arrests
On the morning of November 13th, 2019, the Guelph Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit executed search warrants at four residences located in the west end of the City of Guelph.
Items seized included approximately 60 grams of cocaine, 1 gram of methamphetamine, 800 grams of a cutting agent, $1,205 in currency, digital scales, cell phones, 2 swords, 2 machetes, 5 knives including large daggers, electronic cash counter, $3,475 in prepaid credit cards and vacuum sealing equipment.
A 34 year old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Possession of a Controlled Substance – Schedule 1 – Cocaine
-Possession of Controlled Substance – Schedule 1 – Methamphetamine
-Breach weapons prohibition order
A 43 year old Guelph female has been charged with:
-Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule 1 – Cocaine
-Possession of Controlled Substance – Schedule 1 - Methamphetamine
A 22 year old Guelph female has been charged with:
-Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule 1 – Cocaine
They will appear in court on December 27th, 2019.
Adult Female Shoplifts Headphones In Front Of Two Kids
Some time on November 2nd, 2019, an adult female and two children entered a store near the intersection of Stone Road West and Edinburgh Road South in the City Of Guelph. She proceeded to break into an electronics display, ripping a door off a glass cabinet. She then stole over $4,000 worth of headphones.

POPPY THIEF ARRESTED
(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested the person responsible for the theft of a Remembrance Day donation box from an eating establishment on Main Street West in Palmerston.
On November 5, 2019 at approximately 5:40 a.m. a person walked up to the counter and stole a poppy donation box and left, returning later that same day and attempted to steal a second box but was unsuccessful. Police were notified and provided with a detailed description of the suspect.
On November 8, 2019 at approximately 12:30 p.m., an employee contacted police to advise that the person responsible for the theft was in the restaurant and a detailed description was again provided to officers. Later that same afternoon, a member of the Wellington County OPP Street Crime Unit located the person matching the description on Main Street in Palmerston and placed them under arrest.
The suspect attempted to obstruct police by providing a false name however, the officer recognized the person from an earlier broadcast regarding a similar incident in a neighbouring jurisdiction. A search incident to arrest was conducted and a replica handgun and a quantity of drugs was located on the person. Further investigation revealed that the accused was bound by an undertaking and probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to possess any drugs or weapons.

Possession of a Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling contrary to the Cannabis Act

Hit And Run Sends Pedestrian To Hospital
On November 12th, 2019, at approximately 3am, a male was walking southbound on Edinburgh Road South crossing Kortright Road West in the City of Guelph. At the same time, a southbound motor vehicle attempted a left turn onto Kortright Road West from Edinburgh Road South. As a result, the motor vehicle struck the pedestrian, causing the male to be thrown to the center median. The victim sustained a head injury as well as an injury to his leg in the collision and was treated at a local hospital. The responsible vehicle fled the scene and is described as a 2 door black sedan, possibly a Honda Civic. The vehicle will have notable front end damage and possibly a broken windshield.

Male Arrested For Shoplifting Meat
On November 12th, 2019, at 6pm, security at a grocery store located on the west end of the City of Guelph observed an adult male shoplift $233.48 worth of meat products. Police attended the scene and arrested the male.
A 28 year old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Theft under $5,000
-Fail To Comply With Probation Order
He will appear in court on December 31st, 2019.
IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED
(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) - On November 14, 2019 at approximately 9:20 p.m. a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2002 sedan on Townline Road near Stonebrook Road that failed to stop at a stop sign.
While speaking with the driver police detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. During the subsequent search, the officer seized a partially full container of liquor that was in the cup holder as well as a glass container containing marihuana bud from the passenger seat. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.
Dana Andrew MCFARLANE, 37-years-old of Cambridge has been charged with Impaired Operation - 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code, Disobey Stop Sign contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, Drive Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act 2017 and Adult Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on December 20, 2019 to speak to the charges. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
IMPAIRED DRIVER FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES
(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) - On November 14, 2019 at approximately 11:20 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Speedvale Avenue West at the Woolwich Townline involving a possible impaired driver.
Officers attended the scene and while speaking with the driver, an odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected on their breath. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. During the subsequent search, police seized a baggy containing marihuana bud from the driver's pocket. The accused was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing and while enroute they caused damage to the rear seat of the police vehicle. Once at the detachment the accused refused to provide a breath sample to the officer.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was breaching conditions of an undertaking.
Henry HARRICKEY, 22-years-old of Cambridge has been charged with Refuse to comply with Breath Sample Demand, Mischief and Breach of Undertaking x2 contrary to the Criminal Code, Careless Driving and Novice Driver BAC Above Zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Drive Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act 2017.

Missing 19 Year Old Male
The Guelph Police Service is requesting assistance in locating a 19 year old male by the name of Justin YU. At approximately 3:30pm on the 15th of November, 2019, YU left a note to his parents advising that he was going out for a walk. The family contacted police when he did not return home.
YU was last seen wearing a red winter coat, green sweater, grey/brown pants and brown boots.

Disturbance Call Leads to Drug Arrest
On November 15, 2019, at approximately 1pm, Guelph Police attended to a motel in the north end of the city for a disturbance call. While Police were on scene speaking with the involved parties in one of the rooms, a quantity of, what is believed to be, ecstasy was observed in plain view. A 24 year old Guelph male and a 21 year old Guelph female were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Further investigation revealed the male was also in possession of a quantity of a substance believed to be cocaine. The male was further charged with a second count of possession of a controlled substance. Both parties will appear in a Guelph court on January 7th, 2020.
The quantity of ecstasy seized was 8.9 grams and the quantity of cocaine seized was 28.45 grams with a total street value of approximately $3000.
Break and Enter
On November15, 2019, Guelph Police went to an address on Bard Avenue, where there was a report of a break and enter. Investigation revealed culprit(s) entered a parking garage overnight and stole items from a vehicle. If anyone has information about this incident, please contact Cst. M. On November 15, 2019, a concerned citizen contacted the Guelph Police Service about a vehicle driving erratically. Police located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Washburn Drive. The driver was spoken to and a roadside screening device was utilized. The driver failed and was subsequently arrested for having a blood alcohol level that was equal to or higher than 80mg.
The 43 year old Guelph man was given a November 26, 2019 court date.
