Danby Shows Gratitude By Giving Back to Community
What "Doing The Right Thing" AND "Make It Happen" mean to the communities Danby serves
Guelph, ON - Danby Appliances is celebrating its 75th anniversary of being one of North America's leading manufacturers and distributors of small appliances. As part of the year-long celebration, on July 5th Danby hosted an employee BBQ and presented cheques to numerous local Guelph Charities as chosen by their employees. On this day employees at all the North American Danby sites presented over $75,000 to the charities they have selected.
Anyone familiar with Danby CEO, Jim Estill, knows that he takes his community seriously. He is a champion of giving back, reaching out and as his corporate slogan suggests "DOING THE RIGHT THING!"
At a time when businesses are struggling as a result of the fallout from nearly three years of pandemic fatigue, Danby continues to do the right thing. Empathy and Gratitude are both front-burner values which are reflected in the continued strength and success of the company and in the positive attitude of its employees.
While their products are appliances, the Danby Way of doing business makes it about supporting and creating healthy communities. Their slogan isn't really about the products at all, it's an inclusive style of doing business. Success for everyone. It's a truly remarkable business philosophy which isn't just about the bottom line.
A Rich History
Having started out as a family-owned small electrical appliances manufacturer in Montreal, Quebec in 1947, Danby Appliances has grown significantly over the years, opening offices all over North America and has called Guelph, located in western Ontario, home since 1981.

Anniversary celebrations are took place at Danby’s head office in Guelph Ontario. The Chief of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, R. Stacey LaForme, Guelph’s Member of Provincial Parliament, Mike Schreiner and Guelph Mayor, Cam Guthrie were all invited to be in attendance.
The community was invited to the Danby Outlet Store for a two day only Anniversary Sale where Danby products were available for purchase at celebratory prices.
