Police seek trail users in murder investigation

The Guelph Police Service Major Crime Unit would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of a downtown trail as it continues to investigate the city’s latest homicide.

Specifically, police wish to speak to anyone who might have been in the area of a pathway which runs between Neeve Street and Wyndham Street South -- on the south side of the Speed River – between 5:35 a.m. and 9 a.m. July 11, 2022.

A 43-year-old Guelph male is charged with second-degree murder after the remains of an adult male were found last Wednesday afternoon behind a business located near Wellington Street East and Wyndham Street South. Police believe the two males knew each other and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Anyone who was in the area during the indicated time or has other information about the incident is asked to call Detective Constable Scott Biser at 519-824-1212, ext. 7131, or email him at sbiser@guelphpolice.ca.
